FAQs

Can I use suncatchers in windows with coverings?

Yes, while our suncatchers do require direct sunlight to work, the rainbows can still peek through openings in your curtains, drapes, or blinds. In fact, you can use window coverings to control the amount of rainbows your Axicon Suncatcher produces. Open them up when you want your room filled with rainbows, and close them when you want to focus rainbows in a specific area.

Which windows are best for hanging suncatchers?

More direct light means more rainbows! For the strongest effect, choose your sunniest window. You can also experiment with other windows to find the ambient lighting that works best for your space. We recommend windows that face west, east, or south. East-facing windows typically produce more rainbows in the morning, and west-facing windows give a stronger effect in the afternoon. South-facing windows give a balanced amount of rainbows throughout the day and are especially effective during the winter season.

Do suncatchers ever fade?

No, your Axicon Suncatcher will never stop producing gorgeous rainbows! If you notice that a rainbow prism suncatcher doesn’t seem to be performing as well as usual, remember that factors such as the season and weather will affect the number of rainbows it produces. Your suncatcher will be back to its usual magic in no time!

Beautiful Large Circle Rainbow!

I love this one because I can take it to my friend’s condo that has a lot of sun and a large white wall and move it around. It’s so fun to play with. I always love a free gift , The cardboard one is conveniently light to carry anywhere.

I love this!

I’m a sucker for anything that gives off light. This sun catcher is made of quality materials, it’s not flimsy.. and comes with a pretty decent suction cup. I’ve got some rainbows going on; I have it on a southern facing window and I think once summer comes around it’ll further exceed my expectations. This would be a great gift too.

Perfect!

It's wonderful for adding a lil spice to a room. In this case it was my partners place and he wasn't ready to cover his whole window like I have. Now he loves it
